Ahh, two weeks ago I spent a precious weekend at Vitalhotel Alter Meierhof, together with Signe and Anna. And what a weekend…
Well, let’s start with the beginning :)
Signe and I enjoyed a mere 30 minute flight from Copenhagen Airport, to Sønderborg, with cosy and comfortable Alsie Express. Then, after a 35 minute drive we arrived at Vitalhotel Alter Meierhof – nice and easy, voilá!
Here’s the view from my room, which I by the way found so wonderful, I hardly wanted to leave it…
Happy to receive such a warm and personal welcome from Managing Director and Chef Dirk Luther.
We were spoiled all weekend. And Signe from Danish newspapers Berlingske/BT and I had fun taking photos of the photographer.
Leaving the hotel for just a few hours, we enjoyed a sightseeing in Flensburg, the centre of the region of Southern Schleswig.
Flensburg is an atmospheric and charming little city with hidden gems – and oh, so many beautiful flowers everywhere.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ulrike again. I met her at Jellyfish in Hamburg, great catching up with such a lovely lady.
Flensburg has a university, and when the students have finished their studies, they leave a pair of shoes!
There are even palm trees in Flensburg…
… and rum tasting.
Just one little glass warmed us from the inside – perfect preparation for our upcoming sail trip.
The sail trip was refreshing.
Back at the hotel – now heading for the spa… and a luxury facial treatment. What’s not to like.
I continued the spa experience in my hotel room ;)
Now SO ready for the 2 Michelin star restaurant, located at the hotel, watch the short video:
The day after we went bicycling, and visited the Glücksburg Castle.
Entering an ancient world.
Back at the hotel we enjoyed a light lunch in the Bodega.
Thank you, Vitalhotel Alter Meierhof, auf wiedersehen xo
